All famines are man-made, all famines are political. Historians of empire and humanitarianism have known this forever. Gaza is not starving, Gaza is being starved, by Israel, and this starvation is enabled by our government and by every other government that does not step in to force food and aid.

I know the international rules-based order has always been a bit of a conceit, but I really think we're going to rue the quiet death of the Genocide Convention. If a country can unambiguously bomb, shoot and starve a people out of existence without any pushback whatsoever, we're all in grave danger.

Israel is starving an entire generation of Palestinian children in Gaza, pushing children to the imminent brink of death. Many have already starved to death. No one can be silent right now.
