When I came out to my 80 year old Texan dad he treated it as a complete non-issue and has had zero problems switching names/pronouns. Never let anyone tell you old people can't be expected to not be bigots.
Harrison Ford sticking up for trans people makes him so based. Ford is almost 80, so I don't want to hear, "They come from a different generation." So does Ford, but he isn't a hateful bigot.
