Setting is important in a lot of my scenes, especially in the first Talitha Harbor novel. This one felt a little extra crushing to me. Marga is going home after five traumatic days living in a cave where her only companion was Wisp. Rade kidnapped her.

Even with his flaws, Stephen King is fantastic at settings. Even his books where I'm like, "eh," will have scenes that were incredible. He creeped me the fuck out with a Balloon floating through a library.
