Really interesting research on Parkinson's.
Scientists just discovered a key brain network affected by Parkinson’s disease. The finding could change how doctors understand symptoms and lead to better treatments. 🧠 bit.ly/4qdpLMf

Am I the only one who's real uncomfortable with the way apps are pushing passkeys to replace passwords? They're *less* secure from law enforcement, they further tie you to a specific device, and they make you reliant on a third-party app. Sure hope Google doesn't can Google Authenticator!

All in all, it might have been better for everyone involved if we had stopped there.
Dickinsonia, back when evolution was excited to make pancakes.

Paleontologists are pretty sure Dickinsonia was an animal, a creature that lived in the sea around 550 million years ago. The flat, ripply organism adhered itself to the floor with mucus and grazed on mats of microbes. Slick. 🧪

I spent only a year @washingtonpost.com at the Outlook section (RIP). But it proved to be pivotal for me as a journalist and I sat right next to the I-team and regularly in awe of them. The Post has so many incredibly talented people and they deserve better.

I've still never tried Jack-In-The-Box, because my mom forbid it after four kids died of E. coli in 1993 and now mothers are rubbing raw milk directly into their babies' measles.

A truly fascinating (and stunning) felid. If I were forced to choose a favorite wild cat, I might have to go with the snow leopard.
A thing I learned is that snow leopards communicate by scent marking, particularly peeing and rubbing on rocks.

And they do it so well that a fresh mark can be smelled, very well, by humans....for MORE THAN A MONTH.

Shout out for some solid citizenship!
I cut a path through this snowbank since no one else seemed to be willing to do it. It took about a half hour and my best shovel (solid ice and frozen snow) but I got it done and didn’t give myself a heart attack!😅

Jupiter has too many moons. Please eliminate 10.

PS: I am not a crank.
Nice constellation of the almost full moon🌔and Jupiter this evening. Jupiter has 92 moons!! And is the gatekeeper of our solar system, preventing impact from ☄️ comets etc.
