Russian-born American in Spain. Tango dancer, D&D player, and recovering human rights defender. Chained to the NGO world, because profit margins make me puke. Staving off the void with wine and comedy.
Pursuing my dream of becoming the next Steve Best and photographing the second Barcelona Fringe Festival. Free comedy, free drinks, and hanging out with these nerds is all I want from life, maybe.

The problem with 'he's building a Death Star' memes is that they are only funny if you forget 14 million people are forecast to die because it cancelled USAID. He doesn't need a death star

Anyone who visits Athens, Metaxou is the best place to be. Live music every night, great food, great service, immaculate properly local vibes. This is my third time and it's always this pure.

I actually can and will judge people who are using environmentally devastating technology built on mass theft to create a fictional partner who does nothing but tell how great they are.

Oh no it was really good as well. Genuinely laugh out loud. This is a disaster for me, I've got three new games to try, and I'm genuinely annoyed that I have to wait a week for more.
Oh, I'm so there.
But also this is only deepening my parasocial relationship with Glenn Moore, which means I'm going to be so very lame instead of cool and mysterious when I get @paulfoxcroft.bsky.social to finally introduce us and make us real friends.
I am extremely excited to announce something I’ve been working on for a year: Button Boys, a weekly gaming podcast. Sarah Keyworth, Pierre Novellie and I chat games; what’s coming out, what we’re playing, which games should be on your radar.

AND, you can listen to episode 1 right now (link in bio)!

Today marks the third anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

What's happened since?

A record number of women have been prosecuted. Pregnancy loss is now considered extremely suspicious, even when it has nothing to do with abortion.
Criminalizing pregnancy: A record number of women were prosecuted the year after Dobbs
They were targeted for substance use, miscarriages, and stillbirths, largely driven by fetal personhood laws.

We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

Avoid the violence/nonviolence debate. It’s a trap.

The only thing that matters is what actions lead to more justice and less harm.

Inaction and complicity in the face of brutal oppression is the worst form of violence. Never forget it.
