Journalists aren’t allowed inside ICE detention centers. So ours went undercover.
Inside Aurora’s GEO facility, they found hunger, neglect, and a system built to dehumanize those it holds.

Sooo, dems are fighting against people trying to do the right thing? Checks out.
The complaints were filed by Colorado Common Cause, a liberal-leaning nonprofit that advocates for an open government. They were submitted to Colorado’s Independent Ethics Commission, which is charged with reviewing allegations of violations of the state’s 20-year-old gift ban.

I see folks talking about party affiliation this morning, and all I can say is do it! I switched to independent in 2016, and I regret nothing. I never want to be beholden to a party that treats people so badly.

This question is being asked because Trump cannot pardon state crimes. What he issued tonight was messaging, not a true pardon.
Everyone’s like “so what do these pardons DO??” and honestly I’d say it probably has more to do with this than anything substantive, at least for now
It’s a communicative pardon

Notably, this pardon comes just days ahead of a Nov. 14 deadline for the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia to appoint a replacement prosecutor for Fani Willis, who was disqualified from pursuing the case.

This vote stinks to high hell. Do you sign a secret oath when you become a senator to give up all integrity?

How is a senator this incompetent?
Hassan: With the government reopening shortly, Republicans now finally have to come to the table. Or make no mistake, Americans will remember who stood in the way.

If their goal is to pin the blame on a handful of senators who aren't up for reelection until 2030 then you should primary every Democrat regardless.

If you want to see how much this will cost you.
Curious as to how much more you’ll pay if @democrats.senate.gov decide your health isn’t worth fighting for?
Check out this calculator tool that shows what your ACA premiums will look like if @schumer.senate.gov and the Dems cave:

So the only way to truly let senators know how you feel in time for this vote is to call their offices. However, some of them (both Colorado senators, for example) are not answering their phones. I feel like I need to become a thorn in their sides because they're too cowardly to face people.

Indeed. Your literal job is to protect your constituents, and serve *their* best interest. If you cave, you never deserved to be elected.
Hey @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social and @schumer.senate.gov: compromising with fascists is compliance. Read the room. Do your jobs. Protect your constituents.

If this happens, we all have a sacred duty to name and shame. Also, support new people in primaries.

Exactly this — caving for nothing makes all that pain for nothing.
Further, them caving lends credence to this being just some political scrum when it’s actually much more fundamental than that!
Call those senators, please.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

They want to agree to a vote in December about extending ACA subsidies. Let's say everyone agrees, govt reopens, and they have the vote next month, which Republicans vote no on. We're then back at square one. These cowards better not do this.
