🚦 NEW, NOT SO FAST: A Bayview project was uncontroversial — until it went up for a vote and three people said SFMTA hadn't done enough outreach. Now it's been delayed indefinitely, and it's unclear how that will affect funding. @unazurda.bsky.social reports. thefrisc.com/bayview-stre...
Bayview Street Safety Project Delayed By 3 Complaints, Minutes Before a Vote
Calls for more outreach surprised SFMTA officials, but they shelved the plan’s approval for now. Will it jeopardize future funding?

My Subway Builder proposal for a 6-car intra-East Bay BART automated metro line (or AC Transit Metro). A San Pablo Ave and MacArthur/580 line. I built the normal BART line from 19th Street to Civic Center into SF so i expect many transfers.

Just canceled my Paramount Plus subscription and left a note that it was because of their lack of respect showed to their customers by hiring Bari Weiss!
Today is a great day to cancel your Paramount Plus subscription if you haven’t already

This is essentially the establishment Dem line, from Schumer on down. It only wins if we let it.

Seattle, I hope you vote @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social !
Bruce Harrell makes his closing statement for why he should keep his job after his poor performance as Seattle Mayor and this line says it all.

"This is not the time to hope."

Don’t sleep on Freaky Tales, also a masterpiece of this genre that came out this year!
One Battle After Another and Sinners both lay out a formula for cinema success: diverse movies where white nationalists get duffed in the most graphic way possible shot and presented in increasingly baroque high resolution formats.

Getting my world rocked when this came out is probably my most Gen X trait
“Smells Like Teen Spirit”, released as a single 34 yrs ago today

“No one had any psychic foresight .. that the song would go on to do what it did,” said Grohl. “We just fuckin’ rocked it in a little rehearsal space that was like a barn. .. We just thought it was another cool song for the record.”

The crossover we all crave
Might be my imagination but seems like Alien Earth uses some of the same locations to film as the last season of White Lotus. Specifically the wooden walking paths on water areas.

“Inconvenience is the price of community”

Living together means compromise: waiting, yielding, helping. Motonormativity flips this, teaching us that speed and personal convenience outrank care for others.
I would like these to replace every "Share the Road" sign in Massachusetts. It's not that I'm opposed to sharing the road, but we know drivers don't want to share, so I'd much prefer there's a sign telling them how they're legally required to operate around bikes

The most any of these 1st/2nd century historical sources claim about Jesus is that there was a movement around somebody by that name. There are almost no factual claims made about the man himself beyond basic existence!
Do people like this not realize the absolutely insane standard they are imposing for the historicity of Jesus that simply could not be applied universally?

Guy is arbitrarily hand waving away 3 well regarded non-Christian sources using vibes and not historiography and then getting mad about it

this is the level of funding where all the possibilities for American politics that have been described as hyperbolic over the past decades - the comparisons to Nazi Germany and other nightmares of the 20th century - become logistically possible and politically likely
If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.
