🤖 NEW, AI FOR SPED? Mandated special ed plans are long and dense, especially difficult for non-English speakers to wade through while they wait weeks for a translation. An AI tool offers a solution, but SFUSD isn't on board. @taybarton.bsky.social reports. thefrisc.com/this-ai-soft...
This AI Software Translates Special Education Plans for SF Parents
No, it's not ChatGPT. About 200 SF families have been testing the program in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Vietnamese. SFUSD has yet to invest.

🚧 ICYMI, ROAD BLOCK: A project to bring 1.6 miles of street safety upgrades + a protected bike lane to the Bayview was supposed to be a slam dunk. Then 3 people complained there wasn't enough outreach. @unazurda.bsky.social reports on SFMTA's surprising vote to delay.

🚦 NEW, NOT SO FAST: A Bayview project was uncontroversial — until it went up for a vote and three people said SFMTA hadn't done enough outreach. Now it's been delayed indefinitely, and it's unclear how that will affect funding. @unazurda.bsky.social reports. thefrisc.com/bayview-stre...

🏗️ TO BUILD, OR NOT TO...: SF's chief economist projected last week the upzoning plan will lead to far fewer homes than expected. But 1 big point of the report has been glossed over: building homes is good for SF, and the more you build, the better. Adam Brinklow reports
