I went on a minor etymological odyssey (I promise this is neat but it needs a couple posts) because of immunology bc I recently found out that the Russian term for “mast cell” is «тучная клетка», and being me I inherently assumed that «тучный» shared an etymology with «туча», meaning thundercloud…

This past autumn, the UK 🇬🇧 decided to use up older bivalent COVID boosters "at the back of the fridge" before switching to the WHO-recommended XBB ones.

A pragmatic choice to start the booster campaign on time (both work, but different extents), but 💡 lessons for next year:

Next Steps for the COVID-19 Vaccine Program.

Interesting slide deck on proposed frameworks for how COVID-19 vaccines will be updated.

It essentially follows the annual flu model. IMO useless for COVID as it does not effectively consider/counter rapid rate of evolution.
