Never forget that the reason they are so convinced you’re all getting paid is that they are all getting paid.
The fact that every right winger with influence screams "who is paying for all of this" tells you exactly how awash in cash they all are, and how much they rely on that to keep their movement afloat.
James O'Keefe says he's never seen anything so organized as the anti-ICE movement, observers--he seems to think this term is code--everywhere he goes. Who is paying for it??? he demands to know. It's like he can't even imagine people caring for one another.

Angry at many things today but extremely angry at a holier-than-thou academic telling my students that protesting is what the liberals want you to do and is pointless, that going to college is a scam, and that democracy isn't worth defending. As he Zoomed in from Germany on sabbatical

if this guy wants to be a podcaster so bad he should just do it. like you're on sabbatical. you have an iPhone. talk into it for free instead of ranting to first-generation students about how colleges suck and are pointless

a lot of people are being forced to use AI at work so I will extend my learning excel advice to this circumstance. if you have to use it, work with it to make a spreadsheet that will let you automate something that won't require further engagement with the AI to continue using.

Two particular things get me in the fucking gut about the photo of the child used as bait by Ice. The bunny ear hat (the child's middle name means rabbit) and the way the ICE agent holds him the edge of his backpack

I've said this a couple times in interviews lately but it's annoying that the lesson publishing will take away from this isn't "invest in more specific, niche, and/or weird books that cater to an under-served readership." It'll be "MORE SPORTS" bc that's a variable they can quantify.

This is an excellent analogy, because my recollection from grade school is that the pen on the right looks fun and exciting, and then you play with it for a few minutes and realize it's not actually useful for anything and in fact makes some tasks more cumbersome, and never think about it again.
yeah, just out of interest, how many people choose the pen on the right for real work or art? See a lot of them in professional workplaces, do you?

I need to nut up and actually exercise regularly and the idea fills me with such dread. Unfortunately I can't force myself to make the harder choice consistently so I need to find my lowest barrier entry point for this and I don't know what it is.
