My wife and I are on a last minute trip to Thailand and we had a brief 5-hour stop in Tokyo. As the plane landed we got to see Mt. Fuji at sunset. The photo does not capture the majesty of the view, nor the beauty of the misty golden light behind the mountain.

Go back to 1953 when the democratically elected PM Mohammad Mosaddegh was removed in a CIA/MI6-backed coup (he nationalized the Iranian oil industry) & we put the Shah in power. Iran freaked when we let the Shah into America in the 70’s & took hostages. They feared we’d reinstall him.
