I’m starting to think that my retirement plan of investing all my money into back issues of The Sandman wasn’t as solid as I thought when I was 25.

It’s possible to be glad that an artist makes a quick strong response to a political event and still think that the song sounds as if someone asked AI to generate a song by that musician responding to a newspaper article you uploaded, right? Asking for a friend.

My @washingtonmonthly.com column today chronicles Trump's 5-decade history of advocating for an "unshackled" police and violence against protesters & immigrants washingtonmonthly.com/2026/01/28/b...

The paper & video trail is long. Let's take a look...
Don’t Make Bovino the Fall Guy for the Violence Trump Long Craved
The White House is scapegoating Greg Bovino for killings in Minnesota. But Trump has spent years urging police brutality and mob violence.

Carman’s Country Kitchen in Philadelphia closed in 2013 and I think about the brunches there at least once a week.

Here’s the thing. If you see foreign populations and their attendant culture, music, food, politics, issues, celebrations as a PROBLEM and not a tremendous ASSET in your life, you’re not just bigoted but you’re also deliberately choosing a more boring life.

Most publishers (there are always exceptions) decide whether or not to buy a second book (or a third etc) based on how the previous book did. So when you pirate a book in most cases it’s less about the money you just stole from both author and publisher it’s about the future book you just killed.

I just have to say that this was the very first episode of @extrahotgreat.com I ever listened to (although I had been listening to Again With This for awhile and was longtime TWoP reader).
Whenever this signal goes up, I must by law mention I once went on Extra Hot great podcast & not only participated in a Star Trek fantasy draft (life goal accomplished), also more importantly—I made the case for DS9’s Duet deserving a place in the TV canon (my finest hour) extrahotgreat.com/ehg-124/

This is either incredibly depressing or incredibly hopeful. Or both.
I think it is notable that Trump's approval rating is basically the same as Erdogan's in Turkey, a country that experienced like 500% inflation over the last 4 years. Also lower than the human version of Wario, Viktor Orbán's www.gelliottmorris.com/p/trump-is-r...
