Feeling, as I always do at the end of a test series, cricketingly bereft. Yes, I know there’s still the BBL, but … that’s not really cricket.

Every single one of these thugs needs to be brought to justice under a Democratic administration. Working for ICE at any time, in any capacity, between 20 January 2025 and 19 January 2029 should be an indictable offence.
ICE officers really don’t want you to see how they are assaulting US Citizens in NC

Huh. All the “I need muh guns in case the guvvermint gets outta control” 2nd Amendment folks are reeeeaaalll quiet right now. How strange.

I would just like to say that it would be terrible – reprehensible – for hospitality workers to be adding powerful laxatives to ICE agents’ food, and I sincerely hope that they don’t do that.

An excellent thread of advice to complement the advice on Writer Beware's Small and Independent Publishers page: www.sfwa.org/other-resour...
I want to do a thread on "Small Press Red Flags" brought to you by years in the trenches combined with some issues I’m seeing pop up again in writer circles.

Note: an isolated incident might not be a red flag, but cumulative flags are always worth examination.

First off: Let’s talk about money.

M*A*S*H: Goodbye, Farewell and Amen.
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

Is there a compelling reason Democrats aren’t referring to Karoline Leavitt as “The Mouth of Sauron”?
Leavitt: "We have a lot of leverage over the remaining Maduro government right now. I know Secretary Rubio is in constant correspondence with them. We're gonna make sure this country aligns with the interests of the United States of America."

Watching the cricket and Channel 7 has just screened an ad for the forthcoming Melanie tRump documentary that Netflix paid a bribe of $40 million to acquire. Which reminds me, the cats’ litter trays need emptying.

It seems vital now for every country in the world to start quietly divesting itself of any reliance on the US. Either by increasing internal production or sourcing alternative markets and/or suppliers, we have to remove them from our supply chains. They can no longer be regarded as reliable allies.

I don’t claim to be fluent in the tongues of all nations, cultures and creeds, but I’m not sure there’s a curse known to man that is sufficient to properly punish Stephen Miller for his many crimes against humanity. I still think about that scene in Scanners whenever I see him. 🤞

I live in a country where there’s a news segment about the launch of a new ad for lamb. People, what are we doing? Seriously.

Boycott the World Cup.

Hey, you know where they *do* need a new fuck-off-huge ballroom? The Hague. Because the crowds for Trump & co’s war crimes trials are going to be massive.
January 4, 2026 at 7:25 AM
Not fucking good enough, Albo. This is not a humanitarian mission to restore a legitimately elected government, it’s an international criminal organisation invading a sovereign nation in order to steal its natural resources. Show some spine FFS. 🤬

No, no, no, no, a thousand times no. We will *not* have Trumpian Nazi thug face masks on our police. If they’re afraid to show faces, it means they’re prepared to violate the law they’re supposed to uphold. It’s a year-and-a-bit until the next NSW election; time to pressure the police minister.
Uh, why are these mfers *masked*?

Hey, Siri: Why don’t voters trust the Democrats or take them seriously?
Happy birthday, Space Force! As a member of the Armed Services Committee, I'll keep working to support our Guardians, so they can continue defending American interests in space.

Seconded. And what a cast!

Last day of work for the year! Um … except for a brutal session of freelance wherein I attempt to do a week’s work in two days …

But after that, it’s holidays! 🍻

It’s also worth emphasising that this is how we respond to *one* shooting. One.
Just want to share with my American friends how the Australians respond to a shooting tragedy. Action, rather than thoughts and prayers.

Enough. Just … enough. Stop it. 😔

Watching the news conference from Sydney, and I have to say I’m appalled by the questions coming from the press. Is this really the standard of journalism we want? Maybe think for ten seconds before opening your mouths? Jesus.
December 14, 2025 at 11:16 AM
Oh God, this is horrific. This just doesn’t happen here. Except that it obviously does. Broken-hearted for the victims and their loved ones.

I’ve just bought a VIP Meet & Greet ticket to @podsaveamerica.crooked.com’s Melbourne show next year, and I am RIDICULOUSLY excited! Now I have two months to think of an intelligent question. Frankly, this could be touch and go …
