I dont understand how retailers are "scrambling" to find ways to deal with the end of the penny.
The end of the penny has been discussed for OVER 2 DECADES, if not longer. They had time to figure this out.

If I sold my home, I could realistically get double what I paid for it. That would leave me with a potential down payment 14 times larger for the next one.
BUT I wouldn't be able to get a place the same size without paying at least $100 more a month.
