This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"
China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.

Our best Prime Minister.
It’s not even close.
Nobody has had the guts to change our country, its character for the better at that scale since.
Leaders, including Labor, have been cowards, and politically weak compared to this giant.
We deserve another Whitlam, not a Tory in red like Albanese.

that methane is more than 80 times more potent than carbon dioxide in heating the planet,
toxic nature of forever chemicals used in fracking…

The Western Australian government is allowing 2% of Western Australia to be fracked… as if that’s not much.
But
2% of Western Australia’s area is approximately 50,598 square kilometres.
That’s about the same size as Costa Rica or Slovakia.
Imagine ALL of Slovakia covered in toxic gas wells.

Here's some food for thought, especially for ALP backbenchers, thanks @richarddenniss.bsky.social
It wasn’t the laws that were too weak to stop those projects, it was the ministers
The Prime Minister is betting that by 2028 people will forget the North West Shelf and EPBC backflips, but it would be a brave backbencher willing to make that same bet.
