Gas has definitely not gone up in price, but I love my libs for saying so anyway.
Those who say (X) has gone up in price in the last year:

Food: 78%
Housing Costs: 71%
Cars: 62%
Gas: 38%

The problem for Trump is that while he himself may have the cult following and media personality to get away with literally anything and everything, his underlings are mostly repulsive vile dorks and cannot do the same. Eventually, his association with them will bite him.

In hindsight, Republicans throwing their lot in with weird SV billionaires laser focused on automating jobs and eliminating labor, and increasing energy costs by building giant data centers. as Americans become worried about their jobs and rising inflation may not have been the best move.

Not sure who needs to hear this but I am sure some people need to hear it, so I’ll say it:

The 2024 election was not stolen from Democrats.

We just lost.

The more people believe in the conspiracy, the more people are likely to give up on voting, and the more likely we are to lose.

Again.

I’m not gonna pretend and go rah rah for the purpose of spirit.

I just genuinely cannot believe democrats are about to give away a winnable senate seat in Texas.

Whatever ill-advised vanity project Crockett has, democracy is not worth losing over it.

Just total dismay at the own goals.

My #1 fear this entire presidency has been that they nullify the tariffs and the economy takes off again and Republicans are able to win the midterms and 2028.

But these dumb fucks just wanna shoot themselves in the dick. I mean…🤷‍♀️
Speaker Mike Johnson said Monday he is moving forward with a plan to revive a prohibition on House votes to overturn President Donald Trump’s global tariffs.

Johnson moves to again block House from voting on Trump tariffs
Opposition from as few as two Republicans could derail the effort.

Lol that you think local law enforcement will say fuck off when their unions are pro-MAGA and already won't enforce court orders and law in ICE rulings.

@jonfavs.bsky.social and @danpfeiffer.bsky.social who I think is the best political analyst out there have made it clear.

Trump’s midterm stealing plan *only* happens if the election is close.

We can save democracy by organizing, volunteering, and voting to make sure wen in a landslide.
Democrats are up 4.6 among registered voters in our House generic ballot average, a new high for the 2026 cycle. (Their margin among likely voters is higher, and we will gradually fade in the LV number over the summer) fiftyplusone.news/polls/generi...

The thing is - these results make me pretty furious.

All these people knew better in 2024. But they voted for Trump anyway. Places like Loudoun county, Arizona, all the annoying suburbs which went redder than normal.

They fucking knew. I’m glad they’ve woken up but what a hole to crawl out of…
You know, just winning Trump +10+ districts in the South by 20-30 points.

Democrats are sleeping giants. Refusing to push the gas. Held back by ideals of decency and fairness and blah blah blah.

It’s like Truman and FDR. Sure we want to be nice. But if you push us beyond our breaking point, we punch back, hard.
The GOP is entering the “finding out” phase of gerrymandering. By the same metric, Dems got almost 40% of the vote in Utah and currently hold zero congressional seats due to gerrymandering

A lot of the Republican voter suppression efforts are really really misreading the moment.

They are stuck in 2020. Pandemics over. Dems have taken over high income high propensity voters.

By all means. Make voting harder for the disengaged. Dems will win even bigger.
We’re looking at another very big Dem overperformance tonight—in a Trump+13 district. Dem Chasity Martinez is up 61-39 with more than half the vote in. Notably, like in TX last weekend, the e-day vote has been even *better* for her than the early vote. voterportal.sos.la.gov/graphical

I really really told myself not to get my hopes up. The Deep South special elections have been meh for Dems this year especially. But just wow.

Yea, I get why so many R’s are choosing to retire.
With nearly half of the vote reporting in the Louisiana #HD60 (Trump+13) special election:

Chasity Martinez (D)- 61%
Brad Daigle (R)- 39%

Martinez is currently outperforming Harris's 2024 margins by around 30 points throughout the district.
