Chicago’s home. Interested in where we’re going and how we get there, in the very literal sense.

All opinions mine, he/him.
Vile.
Astonishing: Bovino and his agents showed up at the Bean this morning to pose for pictures. While Border Patrol snapped photos, one agent shouted, “Everyone say, ‘Little Village!’” The neighborhood where they are least welcome and most acutely felt. blockclubchicago.org/2025/11/10/b...
Border Patrol Agents Pose At 'The Bean' For Apparent Photo Op
The photo op came after agents tear-gassed a Little Village street and were spotted in the area numerous times. At the Bean, one agent shouted, "Everyone say, Little Village!"

We must amend the constitution to constrain the pardon power. This is not compatible with a democratic government or the peaceful transfer of power.
Trump’s pardon attorney Ed Martin claims Trump is pardoning his Georgia co-defendants and other “alternate electors.”

Note: Trump’s Georgia co-defendants are charged under state law. The president can’t pardon people for state crimes.

This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.

Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.

Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

I wish this were parody. We are not governed by serious people. Sadly, we all will pay the price for it.

What the fuck are we doing here?
i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Shameful. And in our name.

Those granted use of the state’s monopoly on violence should never glory in it.

These thugs need to get out of our city.

It’s witness slip time! 🚨

Transit funding bill SB2111 has been assigned to committee and we need folks to file witness slips as PROPONENT immediately!

Easy to miss given transit news today, but the ILGA also advanced SB1937 through the House executive committee. This would tremendously increase unfunded pension liabilities. Good op-ed about it here: www.chicagotribune.com/2025/10/10/o...
Civic leaders: State lawmakers should reject massive pension benefit sweetener
A union-backed pension proposal would saddle Illinois taxpayers with $80 billion-plus in additional pension contributions.

Bleak. The sad reality of living in Chicago in 2025.
Quite a world when a federal judge has to call in a federal official to specifically tell him he can't use tear gas on children in Halloween costumes

One day, when this national nightmare is over and speaking up has no consequences, everyone will claim they were against this.
A Naperville man was hauled away by federal immigration agents Thursday morning as his two sons watched, the older boy begging them not to hurt his father and tearfully asking for a chance to speak to him before they left.

They’re always worried about protestors “blocking the sidewalk” but have no problem blocking the sidewalk with Jersey barriers for weeks.
ice vehicles occasionally coming/leaving the broadview ice detention center to lots of boos and jeers.

ice is using the driveway a block away from protesters on harvard street, where state police have surrounded the sidewalk in concrete barriers and banned protest.

In Chicago, masked federal agents drive around in unmarked vehicles grabbing mostly brown people off the street. When others object, they’re met with violence and tear gas. Here an agent shoved a woman at full force to the ground
A very disturbing video has emerged from today’s ICE/CBP operations in Avondale.

An officer pushes a woman to the ground, prompting bystanders to react angrily and throw what appears to be a rock at a moving unmarked vehicle.

This seems to be the new normal in Chicago.
