Scientists say we basically have an HIV vaccine, but Gilead is charging over $40,000 a year for it and won’t yet allow a generic version that could be made for as little as $40 (which still includes a 30% profit).

Tonight I saw many people praising Korean democracy in action, both Korean and others. But it is also the Korean people who elected a president who would gladly return to the 80s. So excuse me when I say I don't know what to think about democracy and its promises. (Not that there's an alternative.)

I was in the middle of my weekly TTRPG night when I saw the martial law news on Bluesky. We stopped playing and went home, because half of us were old enough to remember what it was like the last time something like this happened. We made sure everyone got home safely, then watched the news.
