I've really come around on the "hybrid should work in EDH the way it was designed" argument. Given the game was designed to run four of each card we probably should change the singleton rule. I guess drop to 60 cards since that was how it was designed? Maybe get rid of the cmdr?

It's kinda crazy that I might put one single card into one single deck from the entire ATLA set. That's not a reflection on the set either; it's just most of the cards aren't doing things my decks are doing.

EDH feeling different and unique from other formats is one of the things that attracted me to it, and I'm not sure the virtue of making it look more like other formats.

I think I found the best way to explain why I don't play combo in EDH: combo feels to me like asking your rich daddy to make some calls to get you into a good college. You couldn't do it on your own, so you asked combo to help.
That's for me, in my decks. No reflection on anyone else liking combo.

I don’t think new EDH players realize the amount of non-combo wincons we have access to is a new development. Almost any strat you build has 4-5 cards that can end the game if drawn on t8. A decade ago we had Hoof and a couple sorcery Overruns, True Conviction, Exsanguinate and Insurrection.
