Retroactively you can probably chalk the job thing up to Walt’s toxic provider bs etc but in the moment it set things up precariously.

Yeah by the second ep they’d already moved her forward, but that first one was rough. Walt working two jobs while she effed around on eBay, that birthday handy etc.

Skylar rules but the writers did her dirty with that first episode.

Could be. Tbh I’m not even against it that much. I just don’t see the upside, and all the people I see cheering for it just want to add some annoying card to some equaling annoying deck.

Probably Wan Shi Tong, Librarian in my Callaphe deck, because it cares about devotion and needs draw attached to permanents.

There’s nothing wrong with liking strong or pushed commanders, but stop pretending you’re into a low cost value generator with Ward 4 because it gave you the great idea to fill your list with other generically strong, obvious cards.

Brewing a deck because the idea or cmdr is interesting, vs doing it because it’s good. And stop pretending those are the same thing. I see the same people on here every set squealing about a previewed card that “just gets their brewing juices flowing” and it’s always the obviously pushed card.

There are pros for the change in theory, but almost every actual argument I hear is some variant on wanting to run Rhys in Lathril.

With Democrats like these who needs Republicans.

I’m sure Rhys the Redeemed will be very good in a Lathril deck but I don’t think I buy that homogenizing the format to make that happen is worth it.

Hybrid mana primarily, in large part because 99% of the arguments Ive seen in favor of it are “it’ll let me put this busted thing in my busted deck!”

I personally don't run Torment in any deck for that reason, or even Craterhoof. I do have Moonshaker Cavalry in a deck, but it's a knight deck so it feels on theme, same with Exsanguinate in a lifegain deck with no way to generate mana. But I get a lot of this stuff is fuzzy, too.

And again, I'm talking when I do it. I'm making no judgments on anyone else or what they like or enjoy.

I know this is a hacky answer, but it's kind of vibes based? There's probably no functional difference between having nine bodies out and dropping a Moonshaker Cavalry, or having some five card way to generate infinite mana into a Exsanguinate, but the latter feels way less "earned" to me.
