A crisp winter’s afternoon on the banks of the Lee in Cork City - great spot for a coffee!

Urgent product recall in #Ireland - risk of ⚡️electric shock ⚡️ from a fairly common circulating pump found in up to 114,000 installations - check your heating system pumps, but don’t handle them!

Well that’s useful information, Thanks DHL! lol 😂

Well, it’s an unusual start to the week … a 1:00 AM (yes, really *AM*) appointment with the NCT (Ireland’s compulsory vehicle test) in a test centre approx 40km away!
To be fair to them, they are clearing a backlog, and it is largely my own fault for booking at the last minute, but even so… ☕️☕️☕️ 💨

I think this might be a hint that I need a tech detox. My Apple Watch decided to self destruct! The screen just spontaneously popped off.

Just doing a big tidy up and found these …
Old pre-1950s coat hangers in labelled bilingually in Irish and English and made in Sweden.

Cork must be getting a waft of the continental heat bubble —seems to be a very sharp temp difference between the south coast and the midlands in Ireland today. My car thermometer was reading 27°C in Cork City — rather humid too, yet only 19°C by the time I got to Tipperary and feels quite fresh.

Just sitting out at a lovely, chilled café having brunch, but for some reason, the most tinny, irritating outdoor speakers are blaring 1970s classics like Disco Inferno 🤷‍♂️ it really doesn’t add to the ambience lol

Wish more people posted rather than just benevolently lurking and liking. It puts a huge amount of pressure on far too few of us to be consistently publicly annoying

And here it is!
Apple’s much vaunted AI features have finally landed on my iPhone in Ireland (EU) via the most recent iOS public beta.
So far… Seems about as revolutionary as a kettle that occasionally asks ChatGPT for brewing advice. Am I missing something?!

I’ve lived in various complexes in Dublin and seen several letters from mgmt about how children are not allowed to play in any communal spaces (including the garden). The design of my current place never considered children might live here and where they might play (no private outdoor space)

It is striking, when walking around Spanish cities, how many pocket playgrounds they include.

All the citizens have a place, even the small ones.
Of course I agree that more councils should close off streets for play, but children have been actively squeezed out of public space, by councils, govt, media - there needs to be a strong political & cultural pushback to reclaim children’s right to space and to play.

Is anyone else in #Ireland being utterly bombarded with +32 4 Belgian mobile prefix calls? Just the usual synth voice b/s claiming to be PayPal security. Spoofed caller ID, varying numbers —#spam flood is relentless when I hit reject it immediately rings back. Got 7 calls this morning 🙄😩 #SpéirGorm
