These people care about memes more than is healthy.
CNN: DHS officials have come to FEMA staff and told them to limit the use of the word ice…they are worried that by posting something like, watch out for the ice, that it's going to become a meme….

AND because they think it will be be easier to control Portland ME than Chicago or Los Angeles or NYC.

They want to LOOK stronger than they are.
If they were really powerful, they wouldn’t need the theatrics.

It’s a parade of fear-mongering.
Portland Maine is not Chicago. It’s not Los Angeles or nyc, it’s not dc or Baltimore

There is no conceivable reason it should be this high on the list for a Trump invasion except for hysteria over some brown people existing within our borders.

People say that viewers and readership don’t matter, the billionaires will keep funding their news outlets, but a newspaper that’s all propaganda and no interest isn’t going to get read by anyone they’re trying to reach. You need things like the sports section so people read the propaganda.
According to an internal email to Washington Post sports staff, the paper isn't sending any reporters to cover the winter Olympics next month. The decision comes as major layoffs are expected in the coming weeks.

I would like to gently request that AI pharmacy bots stop trying to kill my mother
Recently, I got a notice from my new pharmacy provider that they wouldn’t cover my thyroid medication and bizarrely suggested insulin instead! I need my thyroid medication. Then a couple of days ago, they called and told me to disregard the letter they had sent. AI is such a time and labor saver!

Every single thing you're seeing from Minneapolis is as impressive as it looks. It is that brutally cold out. That is a stonking huge number of people. Those utterly filled city blocks are that outrageously Midwesternly wide and broad. Getting everyone there did push Metro Transit to the limit.

Trump pulled the US out of the World Health Organisation yesterday.

In response California has become the first state to join the WHO’s Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network.

If this is the start of a pattern Americans will only be safe in Blue states.

The problem with Trump using markets as his barometer is that they “price in” lessons from the last time Trump tried to extort the world, before backing down. Eventually there will be a miscalculation.

- Hazardous to impossible driving conditions are expected. Avoid travel if at all possible.
