No Beer!
In true @sickoscommittee.org fashion, victory fist shake while waiting for my kid’s soccer pregame in Tulsa. Ugly Iowa Sickos football. Love it.

Dive in folks. My day job is spent making sure kids are safe and taken care of - and this goes a long way for a kid who isn’t in their usual “home” at Christmas

Sometimes you just have to pause and look up

So we can’t go back in time and change the outcome of the Iowa game, so I’m choosing to look forward. And man have we made some progress since not having a predictable offense. @scottdochterman.bsky.social ‘s OL article was spot on, look at 2023 just to compare- future is looking up

Are they teasing us with the Ohio State blackout uniforms?!

HAWKS we are up and rolling.
Joining the familiar migration patterns to Iowa City. Temps are low but energy is HIGH!
Let’s. Go. Hawks.

Friends, I am hoping to report back live from the stands- there is a literal Alberta Clipper coming to town. Iowa sickos say bring it on. Cold? My beer froze in the north endzone last Black Friday v Nebraska. We were born in the cold. Molded by it.

You wouldn’t think this is about a young man learning a new blocking technique where he gets to run through a guy’s screws (sternum) - but then do you know ball? Real @sickoscommittee.org stuff and I love it.

Hearing @stevengodfrey.bsky.social compare the College Football Playoff to a Dungeons and Dragons post game press conference just made me snort laugh. Well said.
Also “Boring is an asset in college football,” man oh man will my Hawkeyes put that to the test (complimentary).

Hawkeyes, after being held out of the AP poll, debuts at #20 in the first College Football Playoff Rankings, ahead of Michigan and Washington, and right behind USC, next week’s opponent.

2016 my son & I made a November trip to Iowa City to watch a ranked team come to town. We’ve gone every year since he was 4 (not counting 2020), and he’s 18 now….decided we’d make some memories this Saturday and water our Iowa roots. Let’s. Go. Hawks! Another field storm on tap?

That’s my tough looking daughter! Did she get accused of hitting like a linebacker? Yes. Did I puff out my chest a little bigger? Also yes.

Panem.
Spotted at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Halloween bash:

Giant ice sculpture with built-in luge. Pour booze in the top funnel and it chills and shoots out the bottom.

This monster? Likely $5K+ for one-time use.

Prayers up for that ISU young man. Brutal shot, and tough to have that on camera. Get medical folks in there asap.

Shout out to all my Neilmed nasal rinsers. My ENT doc assigned using it “like brushing your teeth” 2 years ago, and I feel like more people should know just how awesome it is to be able to breathe and not feel like you have water balloons in your sinuses 24-7

Happy Halloween!

The same people who think buying junk food with SNAP benefits is “abusing the system” are fine with wealthy parents using vouchers to send their kids to private schools.
