Library Shenanigans - Anxiety - Dogs - General Nerdom (she/her)
I thought handing in my final paper for my MLIS would be exciting. But now I feel restless and anxious. There was so much anxiety and pressure of having stuff to do, that now that I have nothing to do besides to wait, I just don't know what to do with myself.

The feeling when you say something so true, that you've been holding in, and tears immediately spring to the eyes. There is a surprising physical connection to psychological things.

Does anyone else get the urge to run away from their life? To just start over somewhere new. Or to escape into the countryside and have a small flock of sheep and woolen sweaters?

The library program on using curse words effectively starts right fucking now.

Today in the library, we had therapy dogs come in for a program. While patrons were side-eyeing the dogs, a child peed on the floor, creating a literal puddle on the carpet in front of the copy machine. A librarian proceeded to sit in the pee puddle. Monday chaos at its finest.

I got the household a roomba during the prime days. I plugged the little guy, it started cleaning, and I already have an emotional attachment to him. When our robot overlords take over, I hope Rooby remembers me fondly.

Since I have been away from the Skies for too long, please enjoy one Scully who is crabby but who also demands cuddles.

My husband had me watch the 1973 The Exorcist movie for the first time tonight. I was not prepared. Also, I am shocked for how it still really holds up 50 years later. I don't know many movies that can boast that.

I simultaneously wish that people could hear the incessant anxiety scream that's emanating from my chest, and am very glad that no one can tell that I constantly have a high-pitched whine coming forth from me. I am a beacon of distress. A shining light of sheer terror. Behold; unadulterated dread.

Last night, I got home from a 10 day trip. I got in late but spent a few hours hanging out with the dogs and cat. I went to take a 5 minute shower, and during that time, the cat peed directly in the middle of my bed. She has never gone outside of her litter box before. Is this a thing?

I am getting so tired. One of our elderly, regular patrons got carjacked by two young men right outside our main entrance. I am so tired of the constant threat and violence to both library staff and the patrons and community we love.

I love my summer reading space. After a long day of work, it feels so peaceful in here.

It was 73 and mostly cloudy today. The air held hints of fall; of sweatshirts and crisp night air. It was a perfect day off.

one thing you have to respect about rudy giuliani is that he has fully committed himself to being a little goblin. the man did not take any shortcuts. he’s put in the long hours and the hard work. and look how it’s paid off. magnificent.

One of our regular patrons brought gifts for the whole library staff. My heart is full today. It's been a tough week, and this act of thoughtfulness almost brings me to tears.

The hike today had one steep part of the trail that just about killed me, but I persevered, and the top view was worth it!

I can't believe it's already been one year. It's been a year of many highs and lows, but I wouldn't choose to do this whole life thing with any other human.

I case anyone is wondering how my day is going... I just shoved a whole piece of gum, still wrapped, into my mouth, and was very confused when I started chewing.

The library wishes we had a partner that would pause sex to read a life-defining section of poetry.

Best we've ever gotten was Cheetos, maybe a beer.
