That, and also I have to keep reminding myself that for however monumentally bleak it was/is, the year showed a ton of meaningful solidarity and support from ordinary, everyday, working people from all kinds of backgrounds, showing up and fighting for one another even in the face of actual violence…

If the ultra rich paid taxes in the USA, there’d be no TV ads begging viewers for $19 a month, & no ads promoting prescription drugs.
It’s impossible to watch a TV show here without being bombarded by these ads.
A fair system would have no need for charities and would make healthcare affordable. 😢
