Yes, we keep 3 kind of peanut butter in the house. Crunchy for me, smooth for hubby, and reduced fat, xylitol-free for (pilling) the dogs.

Wishing my #ChronicIllness didn't feel the need to celebrate #DisabilityPrideMonth with a flare, but here we are.

I am so honored to receive the Temple University Division of Student Affairs Values Award for Inclusiveness.

The greatest reward in disability services is watching students achieve their potential. But it is a great honor when your colleagues recognize your passion. I am fortunate to call TU home.

Any person who supports the oppression of any marginalised group is no ally of mine.

Disability is intersectional. You either stand for everyone’s rights or you don’t stand for anyone.

Thinking intersectionally is about leaving no-one behind ✊

Disabled isn’t a dirty word.
Disability isn’t a failure.
Disability isn’t a choice.
Humans aren’t defined by economic value.

Crockett: Instead of the President cosplaying as the next pope, he may want to cosplay as an actual President of these United States. That means he may have to do a little bit of research and understand that he swore a an oath to defend and protect the constitution.

No need to fill out forms or pay fees…

Just feed them.

Thank you!

Just because you CAN play videos on your phone at full volume on the train doesn't mean that you HAVE to, or even that you should.

Me: Why does it seem like other people can accomplish so much when they get home from work? I want to, but I just can't!

Hubby: Maybe they don't have #ChronicIllness?

I'm so lucky that he gets it and supports me.

We've seen the effects of leaving certain decisions up to the states. It results in inequities in access. The refrain, "If you don't like it, just move to another state" reeks of privilege in failing to recognize that moving requires resources that not everyone has.

The hashtag #accessibility allows you to find lots of accessibility-related resources. To find accessibility resources in Spanish, use the hashtag #accesibilidad. The hashtag #accessibilité helps you find resources in French.

When creating PDFs, avoid using "Print to PDF." A screen reader user may still be able to access the text of PDFs created this way, but heading structure, alternative text, and any other tag structure will be lost. Using "Save As" or "Export" can preserve these tags.

If you aren't scared for yourself or someone you care about, then you not only have massive privilege, but you're also part of the problem.

Almost exactly a year after approaching my pcp about potentially having long COVID, I've finally been diagnosed with ME/CFS. It's nice to know it wasn't in my head. But...what now???

Ok so here's what I'm mad about today.

The invisibility of disabled people.

There are invisible disabilities (altho frankly they are not that invisible, we're just working our asses off hiding them) but you can be hella obvious and people don't notice.

I have #ChronicIllness. Sometimes, brain fog or lack of spoons impacts my ability to produce coherent #AltText. But I don't just post pics without it. I decide if the pic is integral to my post. If no, I post without the pic. If yes, I wait until I can do the alt text. #Access

The shutting down of medical research and communication, withdrawal from the WHO, and dismantling or restricting the DHS and Medicare/Medicaid are all eugenics efforts.

It's important to contextualize that, and to take it very seriously.
