What a vile, evil government this is, with no humanity or compassion. Anyone remaining in Starmer’s Labour party or supporting it should be ashamed. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Under new plans to be unveiled by Labour, UK citizenship test has a whole section on Northern Ireland. If you get any of them right, you don't get citizenship.
I'm forever reminded that I'm not truly British because I constantly forget to forget about Northern Ireland
What Americans don't understand is 'crassly forgetting Northern Ireland' is a core part of British culture, like cueing and only being able to communicate via laconic understatement.

Looking forward to informed analyses in the Scots editions of papers on what UKGov's backing down on UK income tax changes will mean for the Scottish Budget, which has been massively delayed by Reeves' arse-covering. I'm sure there will be lots. What? No, I am too old to be able to hear crickets.

to me the takeaway from that scene with Deep Throat is not “follow the money” it’s “the truth is these are not very bright guys and things go out of hand”

Quite looking forward to this. For National fans, the soundtrack is by a Dessner (I forget which one).
One of my favorite movies of the year-slash-decade is now in theaters — and this really is a see-it-in-theater-if-you-can experience. You'll be blown away by Joel Edgerton and emotionally bowled over no matter what, though. (Hits Netflix 11/21)

'Train Dreams' Is a Tribute to the Men Who Built America
Anchored by a career-high performance from Joel Edgerton, this tale of a railroad laborer who experiences love and tragedy is a modest masterpiece.

I am slightly suspicious that any one person could gather and corral so many facts so quickly into a cohesive and often funny story - of a piece of shit who should never be mourned and how he brought us the modern Fascist States of America - but it is very, very good.

We break the emergency glass and initiate the Gregk Directive to commemorate the passing of one of the 21st century's greatest monsters, taking a look back at some of his proudest achievements. (However bad you think he was, he was worse.)

every morning Keir Starmer calls an aide into his room at 6.30am to film him doing bicep curls

"leak this to the Daily Mail" he says between grunts. "say that friends of Keir are concerned about how strong he is right now"

the aide nods, holding up the phone. it's not filming. it's never filming.
