He/him. Originally from the Finger Lakes, moved to the Canadian prairie. Not because it rhymes with my name, but I don't mind that. Lawyer in two countries, competent adult in neither.
I feel like Mads Mikkelsen would be a great. somewhat unexpected choice.
Who do you want to guest host a potential revival of The Muppet Show?

Just so. And I am sure the fact that it was written by two non-white women has nothing whatsoever to do with its clear-eyed take.
Credit where it’s due:

This is one hell of a hard nosed bullshit free article by the NYT. It feels like an editor slipped in the word anomalies, but other than that it’s tough & honest, & how news outlets should write about Trump & his racist administration.

Presumptions, like people who have had assectomies, exist to be rebutted.

...it's Friday afternoon and I may be a bit loopy.
In an opinion dismissing Trump's attempt to get an unredacted copy of Oregon's complete voter registration list, a federal judge cites Bondi's extortion letter to Gov. Walz as support for denying the government a presumption of regularity

100% this. The internet gave people a very weird sense that they have a right to anonymity. Well, you sure as sugar do NOT have that right when sending unsolicited hate mail.
There's a tendency online for people to black out the names and email addresses of people who send them notes like this but I'm all for making it public.
kind of amazing to think that there are people who wake up in the morning, get mad at a fox news post and then send this stuff

I am old enough to remember a time before social media. Before the internet was even a thought for the average person. In that time, I have been wrong, a LOT. I have refused to admit I was wrong, a LOT. But I have never been as confidently and abusively wrong as people are online.

I will just mildly protest that the NHL stats are likely skewed by many players not being U.S. citizens.
good to see hard data on "baseball and hockey players have by a large margin the worst politics of any major sport", a thing that every serious sports fan knows intuitively

Again, Mamdani answering the question of "what if politicians were just likable human beings?"
From @acyn.bsky.social (posted on X)

"Reporter: Do any of you have a favorite animal?

Child: My favorite one is a gold snake that can move. It has gold eyes, and it has a super-duper tail…

Reporter: Mr. Mamdani, the second question for you.

Mamdani: Yes. It’s also the golden snake."

Make Peter Thiel into the villain, Democrats.

It's all there.

He is the node that connects Trump, Vance, Palantir, Musk, Epstein, and so many other terrible players.

Just expose it and make him and Musk the face of these psychopathic billionaires ruining our lives.

Hey so trumprx actually went live and it's got the same cost savings as goodrx. Exactly the same. However it's worse because it doesn't include generics. Generic protonix is about $6.

This literally does nothing. What a joke.

I don't follow any of the Stancil stuff, but it reminds me of the old SNL "Bill Brassky" skits: it's all half-legendary, possibly made-up stories about some guy you've only heard distant tell of.
Will Stancil getting thrown out of the ICE signal chat for being annoying (and apparently not following the rules?) was always the way this was destined to end
