I feel a lot of pundits and social media warriors are so intent on finding proof of pedophiles on the other side of the fense, that they miss the bigger picture. This transcends left vs right. From what I’ve seen so far, there are three big issues here, and they are both separate and interrelated.
Has anyone else been digging through the 23,000 pages of Epstein documents that just dropped? Because I have, and there is so much in there. It’s honestly frustrating watching mainstream coverage pull a few flashy details while most people never see the firsthand sources themselves.

Let’s assume, for argument’s sake, that, at some point in the future, all jobs are going to done by AI and automation. How do we rewrite our economic systems to set that up in a manner where EVERYONE’s basic needs are met, at the very least?

Are universities still academic institutions, or have they become glorified vocational institutions to feed the hungry maws of industry?

I just listened to the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley, address the UN, and when you compare the speech of the president of the most powerful and influential country in the world to that of the PM of a tiny island nation with 100th of population, your head wants to break.

You know who would have recognized and treated sepsis? Any of the thousands of foreign qualified physicians deemed not up to ‘Canadian standards’ who are driving taxis and working in admin jobs in Canada. The jingoism in our healthcare is strong and misplaced. We need to start questioning it.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

One of the first things you learn studying international law is how little the US respects it - quite remarkable. For example: You can see in raw numbers how few international conventions it is a state party to.

eg: The US is the only UN member that has not ratified the Child Convention.

Mayor Brandon Scott has reduced crime in Baltimore by 62%, and now has the lowest homicide rate in Baltimore history.

How did he do it?

NOT be spending more on police. He did it by MAJOR investment in afterschool and literacy programs.

People who voted for this have a hole in their soul. They don’t realize that when all the immigrants have been deported, LGBTQ folks are back in the closet, women are obedient trad-wives, and the world is run by straight white Christian men, that hole will still be there - as big and empty as ever.
Every time I post about ICE tactics, I get replies, “This is what I voted for.”

Really? You voted for a mother crying for mercy while her child is still in school—about to come out and find her missing?

There isn’t another way to go about this that preserves our humanity?

I’ve seen video of hundreds of peaceful protest all day, all over the US. Pretty sure the news will be dominated by footage of three incidents of violence that occurred, if not today, then sometime in the last decade or so, and if not in the USA, then somewhere, to showcase the violent riots.
