Sorry, South African in the chat. I grew up on All Gold Tomato Sauce (which is what we call ketchup in South Africa), and Heinz can go and suck tomatoes. All Gold IS the gold standard, and this is a hill I am prepared to die on! Do you want to talk about mayonnaise next?

I couldn’t find the last word of Wordle tonight, so I decided to give Google the clue and see if it could help. Of course the top recommendation came from AI: it suggested FALTER as the 7-letter word I was looking for! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I recently read @richardosman1.bsky.social ‘We Solve Murders’ and absolutely loved it. I’m now halfway through ‘The Thursday Murder Club’ and it laugh-out-loud delightful, witty, charming, and oh so clever. 10/10 - Recommend!

I see a lot of reporting and posting on the measles outbreaks in the US, but little about the outbreaks in Canada, and Ontario specifically: Ontario has had more than 1,600 cases since October! We need the province to become a lot more assertive and proactive with regards to vaccinations!

Here’s a picture of my cousin’s dog. Hope this helps to hold the unraveling at bay.

I am hanging on to the hopes of The Simpsons accurately predicting the current future like I pin my hopes on tonight’s lottery draw.

Found them!!! The Bangladeshi factory workers doing the $140/month jobs Americans want to do, taking advantage of the USA, causing a trade imbalance because they’re not buying enough Harley Davidson!

This is the shit that’s going to make my head explode. Is lettuce #1 from the USA or from Mexico? What is this either/or rubbish, Foodland? Do you not know where your product is from? And lettuce #2 is labeled a product from the USA, but then there’s a deceptive 🍁 by the price, Walmart? WTF?

The dystopia they’re trying to usher in. Remembering women and children were sought after by these factories because they could be paid less, had smaller hands and fingers which speed up jobs like fitting in ‘little screws in iPhones’, and, especially the children could fit into smaller spaces.

Oh, my poor abused TBR stack. (Yes, the stack, not the list.) There are always new TBRs, and instead of adding them to the bottom of the stack, they tend to go to the top. 😳
Earlier today someone mentioned Mark Carney’s Value(s) 🤔.
I just had a few minutes to investigate and, low and behold:
March 21, 2025 at 4:12 AM
The National Post quoting The Telegraph to warn us against incoming PM Mark Carney. 🤣Apparently Carney is so dangerous that Jacob Rees-Mogg 🙄 dubbed him ‘high priest of Project Fear’ because Carney was a leading voice advocating against Brexit. National Post, that is an endorsement, not a turn-off.

God have mercy. 😭😭😭 When will the USA join most of the developed world and the barbaric practice of capital punishment?

His entire article advocates for efficiency and applying a tech-bro mindset. Not a word about good governance, effective service delivery , or being people-centred.

I got the same screen yesterday, and sent a sternly (and I mean STERNLY) worded comment to Google, and lo and behold, this is what my map looks like today:

I suspect it has more to do with Musk's efforts to operate Starlink in South Africa than the land ownership issue. 🤷‍♀️ technext24.com/2025/01/28/s...
