Here’s an idea: what if Bluesky can just be Bluesky and we don’t have to want every single social media platform to be the global townsquare and how about if no platform becomes that and how about we just make the platform what we want and stop considering niche a failure for no reason.
If Bluesky is to grow and become a viable alternative for the "Global Townsquare," which was the point, it needs to compete on engagement and virality is a part of that.
It isn't competing. Engagement here has been falling for a year. That's a problem if you, like me, want it to survive and thrive.

it's really cool how often somebody on here is like "that Cait is a shit starting bitch who does fucked up shit all the time and harasses everyone like a monster" and nobody has ever once been able to demonstrate to me anything that I have done that isn't just.... the function of the website

I emailed with one of my local librarians yesterday to find out how to make requests! Not only did I learn how, I found out that if you can find a book in Libby but it’s not available to borrow yet, clicking “notify me” lets the library know there is interest! 🌈 The More You Know 🌈
