The more of this talk there is, the weaker he becomes. Trump needs the illusion of another term to maintain his grip. There will be no authoritarian takeover as long as his party publicly prepares for him to leave at the end of his term.
not really a great sign for the consolidation of your personalist regime if your same-party allies are openly talking about their presumed campaigns before you’ve even gotten through the first year of your term
