I am still shocked by the degree that casual racism has been completely normalized in the US. I shouldn't be after the last 10 years, yet I am.

If systems may be compromised that is reason enough. The immediate problems are restrictions on transfer of systems and technology to a third parties. Europe needs to develop their military industrial capacity to become independent, they have that ability if they make the investment.
