What is the point of having a sprawling national security state if they can’t find out who did a mass shooting in broad daylight five days ago?

Solidarity with the eight Palestine activists on hunger strikes.

These are prisoners of conscience, being held for opposing UK complicity in genocide.

If they die while David Lammy continues to refuse to meet them he will be directly responsible.

He must free them, and unban Palestine Action.

The blockade of Venezuela is a disgusting echo of U.S. imperialism in Latin America. We were lied to about Iraq and WMDs, and an entire generation paid the price.

Here we are again.

We cannot let a wannabe dictator drag us into another forever war.

NEW: The NDAA almost had right-to-repair language for the military supported by everyone from Hegseth to Warren in it. Alas! At least it doesn't have language mandating the military pay for subscription repair services in, which it could have. This is by @boone.bsky.social
The Military Almost Got the Right to Repair. Lawmakers Just Took It Away
The final language of the annual bill that funds the US military is in. It removes provisions that would have helped ensure servicemembers’ ability to fix their own equipment.

Larry Ellison, the world’s 2nd-richest man, predicts an AI surveillance state where “we’re constantly recording & reporting everything.”

Are we headed toward a future where every call, text, email & search is tracked by billionaires?

That's not democracy. It's authoritarianism.

The current US Govt can not be allowed to persist.
They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.
Torture Techniques from CIA Black Sites Were Used at Alligator Alcatraz
Amnesty International, interviewing migrant detainees, identifies use of the confinement box. There can be no denying it is a torture prison

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

One thing that's tough to come to terms with about politics is many people genuinely love being dupes. There's no justification for war so stupid that they won't eagerly get behind it. I truly don't know what anyone can do about this part of human nature.

I’m proud to stand in solidarity with @nationalnurses.bsky.social at University Medical Center New Orleans on strike for a fair first contract.

These nurses are facing a staffing crisis because of UMCNO's refusal to provide fair wages, benefits & working conditions. Enough is enough.
New Orleans nurses are on the strike line this week because fewer and fewer staff are staying long-term at UMC. Meanwhile, LCMC executives are making obscene amounts of money.

How about investing those profits into nurse retention instead of executive pay?
