rarely is there good news out of Texas so when there is we should celebrate it

I've said this before but I unironically love this David Lynch meme moment. I love it as a creator. Because LISTEN, you don't owe anyone an explanation or even a reason something you made is important or worthwhile or meaningful. INCLUDING YOURSELF

Salt -- and I can't stress this enough -- your pasta water aggressively. I'm talking a HANDFUL of kosher salt. It should taste like the sea. Your baseline happiness will improve

I can be a very practical and empirical person much of the time, and David Lynch was one of those creators who was able to make me stop for a moment, look in the face of reality's endless absurdity, and just shrug, and say, "why the hell not?"

David Lynch passed a year ago today. I hope we all can absorb just a little bit of the energy he put out in his lifetime.

Listen, I'm in my cave trying to live through all of this with my mental health intact, but don't even think of saying I don't care

I try to live somewhere BETWEEN "this is all ok" and "burn everything down and get rid of everyone" but hey maybe I'm the one who's wrong

Moonhaven good!

"adults in the room" my ass
January 8, 2026 at 6:11 PM
So far I'm loving Moonhaven. Two episodes left. One thing they're doing very right (I think) is that I feel far from spoon-fed. I end every episode and most scenes going "wait what??"

It's not REQUIRED for good entertainment, but it's delightful IF the world is one you like returning to

What’s your favorite video game that’s at least 27 years old (so 1999 or earlier)? Let’s get a list of classics going.

I’m proud of all of us on the faculty who stood up to this man in this moment - and ashamed of everyone who let him off the hook
Just thinking about how a board of trustee member voted against certifying Electoral College votes after Jan 6, then went on little press tour and fundraised off of insulting the faculty after he got criticism for that vote, and then got reappointed to the board.

A preview of Jan 6 consequences.

I'm pretty sure "murdered in cold blood" is capable of defamatory meaning, and there's no doubt that it's extremely false - is there a plausible defendant here?

Amandla Stenberg has been in Bodies Bodies Bodies and Everything Everything so now I'm wondering why she wasn't in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and thinking she should be in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

That's what the third one has to be called right?
January 5, 2026 at 7:54 PM
I just saw the poster for Bodies Bodies Bodies and thought maybe I should finally watch it, watched the trailer, wondered where I knew her from, searched, found it's Amandla Stenberg, and was immediately reminded of how racist fanboys once again killed a good show with review bombing and loudness

It's wild to me how much better name-brand Adderall works. In a hundred tiny ways, it just treats the disorder better and helps so many of the tools work better

I also spent most of this season and most of the final episode occasionally shouting/pleading "mass effect 2!!!!" (iykyk)
