A lovely article on how communities planting trees are coming closer together by @olivialeejourno.bsky.social. I've just organised a group of residents on a WhatsApp to water our new 6 fruit trees: 5/6 currently have a guardian! Will update you all after Easter.

Even accepting the premise that AI produces useful writing (which no one should), using AI in education is like using a forklift at the gym. The weights do not actually need to be moved from place to place. That is not the work. The work is what happens within you.

What a great story - a real timeline cleanser.
A while ago a lovely German man appeared at our church. He came a few times to look around during our Saturday opening hours, before asking if the piano abandoned in the corner worked.

I told him it was horrendously out of tune, and the cathedral piano tuner had deemed it not worth sorting out.

The press have caught up with this awful story of a violent police raid on a Quaker meeting house - front page of the Sunday Times today.

Beautiful line from a Quaker Elder “The only resistance I could put up was to make tea and drink it in front of them without offering them any.”

Never forget, if you design a city for cars, it fails for everyone, including drivers.

If you design a multi-modal city that makes walking, biking & public transit attractive options, it works better for everyone, including drivers.

INCLUDING DRIVERS.

The “war on cars” has always been a lie.

A swinging axe has always drawn a crowd.

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too.

Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more.

Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.

It's a must read for students & teachers in the social sciences, but everyone would benefit with being more familiar with these ideas and approaches.
