A vignette... I remember at SeaWorld in Orlando in around 2013, the announcer at one of the shows asked all veterans to stand up. Cue huge applause. And then the announcer asked all veterans from America's allies to stand up. And the applause was even louder. That was rather moving.
An optimistic (/deluded?) thought: for all the talk of US-European rupture, across their combined populations, support for Trump beliefs is probably below 25%. Well over half of Americans are appalled by the idea of enmity between us. Possibly more once traditional Republicans get a spine... 1/

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

I can't trust politicians who are anti-trans. Not because I'm "only searching for perfection" which is what centrists will be accusing me of for the rest of my life, it's because if you're not pro-trans you'll be garbage on lots of other issues too. Being anti-trans NEVER exists in a vacuum.
