Slaughter done for the sake of spectacle alone. The convulsing corpse of the evil empire, wriggling with maggots solely concerned with vice-signaling.

There's no PNAC driving this, no deep geopolitics or grand strategy of conquest, it's just bloodthirsty boys frantic to prove their moral abjection.

everyone dislikes genai in games, but kids and story-focused players the most.

sounds like we'll be ok. just have to stay the course here and the "inevitable" new technology nobody likes will die. again.

With Critical Reflex being such a major player in the indie space, these accusations of covered up sexual harassment and unfair labour practices are all deeply disappointing and distressing. I hope this all gets tackled quickly and decisively.

i'm having a powerpoint party for nye, because i do not know a single allistic person, and i'm gravitating towards doing a tierlist of gamedev discourse. this is what i've got off the top of my head. what am i missing?

Just finished this one. A really rewarding experience, leaving you in the dark and making you piece your environment together from thin bits of information. Really funny and horrifying story told through scraps of chatlogs, too. Absolutely worth your time and money.

Keep thinking about this term "pre-digested" that Kojima used to describe art that's instantly gratifying. And how it's better when people grow to love something instead.

I've gravitated, as player and designer, toward the latter, but that term "pre-digested" is new and feels very strong.

The games industry brings in 300 billion dollars a year. The guy who made DOOM gets his projects canceled, the guy who made Katamari Damacy is broke, everyone in your feed is begging for a job and there are 50 new games coming out on Steam every day all going towards buying Gabe Newell's next yacht
Keita Takahashi (Katamari, Wattam, Noby Noby Boy) has moved back to Japan, and says he may be forced to quit the games industry due to To a T underperforming.

He also says he'd love to work on Katamari again, and for someone to invest in his studio.

i don't understand gamedev bluesky's obsession with endlessly talking about the things they hate. are games art discourse? some dickhead made a bad post? the game awards? go outside bro. bake some pastries. take a nice photo of your butt and send it to your friends. do literally anything else
