A great first day of the "Navigating Coastal Hazards" Workshop, the 3rd year that the Cascadia CoPes Hub has organized it. Saw some great research, met people from as far away as Montana & Arizona!

@disasterqueer.bsky.social and @justanothergourd.bsky.social would have loved it.

The Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies were the dopamine boost I needed to endure. A sign of what America can be when we join hands with the global family of nations.

Wouldn't need so many wealthy patrons of the arts, humanitarian work, and philanthropic efforts if we just taxed them appropriately, without loopholes.

The news venture that Stephen Colbert and others are cooking up would do well to reach out to the laid off staff from WaPo.

I think @heelstcloud.bsky.social would be laughing like a hooligan seeing the good trouble we're creating out here on the West Cosst.

Another month, another political party meeting where we are gaining supporters and demonstrating what effective organizing can do. Even had a candidate announce their campaign today!

Change begins when we become too upset to stand by any longer.

The arrests of Don Lemon, Georgia Fort, and Jamael Lundy are unacceptable and a clear violation of the Constitution.

This is a dangerous abuse of power that threatens the rights of every single American.

They must be released immediately.

His name was Alex Pretti. He was a Legal Observer. He was a federal employee. He was a nurse that took care of wounded, ill, and disabled military veterans at a nearby Veterans Administration facility.

He was not dangerous. He was not a threat. ICE is a state-sponsored terrorist organization.

We don't need ICE in America in 2026 (or really, after 2005), and ICE certainly doesn't need to be armed.

Abolish them and put that funding back into USAID and the Department of Education.

I served for over 20 years, and spent time deployed to both Iraq and later Afghanistan. Our NATO Allies were most definitely in Afghanistan, even some 14+ years into the conflict. They fought bravely, suffered many terrible wounds, and some gave that last full measure of courage.
Troops remember.
