Hello new friends! Have you played Seasonspree yet?

It's a cute little game about cute little animal friends, and you control the flow of time by walking left & right. It's really good, and not very long, because your time is valuable!

Has anyone pointed to last week's Adobe debacle to show Discord management that it isn't too late to not do what they say they're going to do?

That's funny. I wrote a book that takes place 250 years from now, and for some reason, despite society doing better than ever, the Heritage Foundation no longer exists. Neither does America.

I think I like my plan better.
The Heritage Foundation has released a 250-year roadmap to “save America.”

The document is a how-to guide for subjugating girls & young women: a detailed plan to push them out of college, funnel them into early marriage and motherhood, and then trap them there.

Hooray! Looks like a step in the right direction. I imagine there might be a downside to direct code vs script files (and now that I've typed that, I see the bit about "some limitations"), so I'll probably stick with how I've been taught, but I'm always here if Godot wants to make it even better!
So Godot kinda already has this - you just don't encounter it a lot.
If you have a node and create a new script on that node, you can check "built-in script" and then that script is not a separate file, but just code attached to that one node.

Back in the days of Flash (rip in piracy) you could Alt+double-click nearly anything (or press F9 if you like slowing down) and immediately start writing code, which is directly attached to that thing.

Later on, we'd be told by nerdypants that code should go in the timeline, not inside objects.

Five years ago, I adopted a "Don't Say No" policy with product teams. When a design's rooted in research and gone through usability testing, it's no longer a question of whether it would help or if it makes sense for users. So when engineering says we can't implement it, I rage just a little inside.
Whenever an engineer says "It's not possible" always remember that what they actually mean is "I don't know how to build that" which sounds different, but means the same thing.

If your job application includes essay questions, your rejection email can't be from a no-reply address.

Essays are functionally an interview, so if you force candidates to do extra work just to apply, you don't get to cheap out on the very first stage.

Ten years ago today we shipped Firewatch. I say this every anniversary but it feels both like a lifetime ago and like it was yesterday. Thank you everyone who played it back then or played it today for the first time. Thank you to everyone on the team, I’m still so proud of what we made.

Is it just me, or did people not use to name pets after foods like they do these days? Is that a newer-generation thing, or did I just not notice back in the day because I grew up in redneckville?

They probably weren't the first to do it, but given the way scene files are used in Godot projects, I really wish they hadn't called them scenes. That word already means a very specific thing in normal English. Oh well.

Also, super bummed I'm still applying to jobs at midnight on weekends.

This is your future, design students. Might wanna find a new major quick.

Well this is a first for me. I've seen plenty of job applications that require a LinkedIn account (and seriously, you all need to cut that garbage out), but this is the first I've seen a required Facebook account.

Wonder if they'd accept a Myspace link? Because this is a no-Zuck machine.

Godot is kinda working tonight. I'm learning a lot about what process I'd really like to be streamlined, even batch-assigned to a single button press, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn they already are, once we get through these basic tutorials.

But I want to swap the hierarchy order SO BAD.

Time to up that cache to 90 seconds!

Better yet, make that button do nothing but add a timestamp to the footage, to show when the cop thinks they're recording.
Cops were frequently getting caught planting drugs in 2017 because body cameras were new and many of them didn't understand how the technology worked.

When cops hit "record" it saved the 30 seconds from *before* they hit the button. Eventually, they figured it out.
Why Cops Frequently Got Caught Planting Drugs in 2017
Look. All technology comes with a learning curve.
