Hello new friends! Have you played Seasonspree yet?

It's a cute little game about cute little animal friends, and you control the flow of time by walking left & right. It's really good, and not very long, because your time is valuable!

I've never really considered moving from UX Lead to UX Manager, but I think I've got the chops for it. Anyone here have experience making that switch?

As a lead, I typically end up doing a lot of the footwork, which is fine, but I want to have more of a say in the strategy and direction.

If you upgraded the memory, does that mean you can remove it and use it in your next laptop? Could you buy a new laptop without any RAM to keep it affordable?

Sure, Rian Johnson's a decent writer, but Benoit Blanc has now had three chances to use the phrase "knifin' around" and he's failed us every time. So I'm starting to think he isn't the genius we all assumed he was.

The Portland light festival is technically happening now, but there isn't much going on during the weekdays. I did get a pretty rad photo tonight using a reflection in a window though. This was using a Lensbaby Sweet 50.

I'm not sure if most companies know the difference between Manager and Director, but I'm not seeing many Director roles on offer. UX Manager roles seem to be more accessible, at least at the moment.

Oh no, this wouldn't be in games. I do UX work in tech/healthcare/education/etc to pay the bills. I've always led design teams, but it's been impossible to find work for the past couple years, so I wonder if I should graduate to management, which isn't at all where my heart is.

Verdict: nope. Too minty. Not bad, but not Marvis.

Someone hire me please so I can afford to import the best toothpaste.

Apparently the only Marvis toothpaste you can buy in the States without importing it is sans fluoride. So I'll have to wait to stock up on the good stuff.

So I picked up a tube of Linhart instead, and I'm gonna see if that's worth the price tag.

Just got an email from ZipRecruiter with the subject line "Someone likes you!" and I've never been more sure that they've always wanted to make a dating app but some VC convinced them to pivot to the other demographic of desperate suckers

I've only seen Great News out of the three, so I'm sure there's plenty I'm missing out on. I'm just afraid of shows losing their shine, and after The Good Place & BoJack, it feels like four seasons is a good length. Gravity Falls had a solid run too, and people still talk about rumors today.
February 11, 2026 at 5:29 AM
I don't watch a lot of shows, but the writing on that one was solid. I'm fine with two short seasons though. The reason it was so good might have a lot to do with that.

Gotta watch out for those corpos! 🤑

All this because they refuse to just calculate our taxes for us, which would save so much energy and waste

I can't imagine the steps that led to this decision without picturing a bunch of rich suits smirking at each other from across their gigantic conference table.

There are many many “unbanked” people in this country due to our vast systemic inequalities. This is bad for them.
A new IRS rule requires taxpayers to provide a bank account number and routing number so their refund can be sent via direct deposit.

I was looking for assets for a game prototype last night and realized Itch had a handful of freebies that work well enough. Maybe there are 3D scenes there too?

And some of the pushback is purely reflexive, COYA behavior
(Might have told this here before)

This design I'd been working on fixed a huge problem, but the coder said it couldn't be done. I walked to his desk and asked him to explain what made it impossible, and in 20 minutes, he'd completely reversed his decision. I didn't say a word the whole time.
