Useful info but the focus on time to travel to city centre neglects the circular neighbourhood linking routes that are important to many. Esp young ppl, older ppl, carers. These journeys are SO Tricky by bus in Sheffield.
Very cool use of r5r to calculate the potential increase in accessible population through improved bus/tram/train timetables in various English cities

In the @uk.theconversation.com, I rehearse - in briefer form - my arguments _for_ play in grey space, arguing that it affords opportunities for play, connection and care that green space often can’t, and that it’s politically important to value play in these spaces.
Children should have a right to play in the streets, alleys, pavements and car parks of their neighbourhoods
Play isn’t just for playgrounds.

Sixteen refugees attended a collaborative mapping workshop in Berlin. Their goal: reconstitute the city of Homs, Syria, through overlapping memories of a place they once called home.

As music by Lebanese singer Fairuz played in the background, memories poured forth of a city leveled by war. (1/5)

Good nuance for Landscape Arch. Portsmouth & Nottingham have good scores for distance but poor provision in terms of size ➡️ expand existing playgrounds.
Pgs in Brighton & Lincoln are bigger but further apart ➡️ a few new strategically positioned ones to fill gaps. theconversation.com/we-mapped-18...
