Despite it all, I do like much of the work released under Zimmer's name a great deal and have done since I was 14.

This one stings!

Hard to say, but Cailín Ciún has a gorgeous scene where the dad walks past her and wordlessly puts a Kimberley biscuit on the table next to her. An apology and a small act of care.
This is a favorite question to ask. Favorite little moment of kindness in a movie? I'm thinking of Tim Blake Nelson leaving money on the sill after they steal a pie in O Brother.

Only four people in the UK have formally complained about a trans woman entering a “single-sex” facility, an eye-opening report has revealed.

A report published by advocacy group TransLucent found that only four official complaints were documented across 382 public bodies since 2022.

At the end of last year, when I wrote this episode of the Daily Service, all about endings, beginnings, war, people, and hope - all through the lens of my Grandad's stories, and Coventry Cathedral... I did not imagine it would be aired at a time like this.

I was on this last year and it changed my life.

As well as creative support, it's professional support – how to submit to agents, what to expect from the process. It all feels very possible now.

Don't second-guess yourself! APPLY APPLY APPLY!

Say what you will but O'Leary improvising that line is crazy. It tips the film up to the brink of something very weird, changes how the whole thing scans
• He improvised the 'I am vampire' line and they almost added in a scene where he bites Marty

• He's 'caught the [Hollywood] bug' and wants to keep acting

Hello new followers and happy new year! We're just twelve days away from the launch of my first epic fantasy, SISTER WAKE, everything you've ever wanted in a book;

(provided what you want is Irish myth, colonial revenge and two hundred foot Celtic goddesses with a grudge.

I hope to see you there!

Some people may be considering writing a novel this year.

Good idea!

I thought I'd share some practicalities that have worked for me as a very busy person who also writes.

This is me sharing what I have tested and used. This is not advice.

Reread the previous two sentences.

It's the national year of reading in the uk in 2026. Instead of asking "why don't kids read any more", ask "how can I help them find the stories (and non fic) they will fall in love with". Less "get off my lawn whippersnappers" and more "come, sit on the lawn, here's a comic".

2025 was by far the strongest year ever for novels by trans writers from major publishers -- and that's before you get down to smaller presses and self-published stuff, which were also cooking. God, I hope it sustains in 2026 and beyond. A lot of these books sold well! The audience is there!

2025:
- broke the back on the second draft of my novel
- Raising Voices Fellowship with Children's Books Ireland
- work appeared in the exhibition 'Radiant Work-ings II' in Spacecraft Studios
- got a new job
- came out to my little sisters
- got engaged!

I'd say that's alright
