New Mexico’s parole board granted Jesse Tooker parole for the life sentence he received at 17 years old because of the state’s Second Chance Act, passed in 2023.

But they still wouldn’t let him leave prison. “It was just devastating,” his sister says.
New Mexico Officials Block a Pathway to Freedom for Juvenile Lifers Despite Reforms
State lawmakers banned life without parole for juveniles. But an opinion by the attorney general and parole board decisions could keep some from getting a second chance.

Last night, at least one federal agent shot me multiple times w/ pepper balls in my leg after they dispersed hundreds of protesters away from the MDC driveway on Alameda Street in DTLA. I was covering the protest for @lataco.bsky.social. This is the 2nd time I've been shot by the feds since June.

The vigil for Alex Pretti on E 26th and Nicollet currently. Every day I’ve visited, it noticeably grows. Several stores here are still closed for businesses; a few of them have switched into mutual aid centers and continue to provide hand warmers and the like.

I know people were swayed on social media by pseudo-"legal experts" and assorted bullies claiming they knew the truth. They lied to you.

But never forget: you were tricked by people who knew about Epstein. People who have no problem with child rape. They are evil, no matter how inane they may seem.

I got threatened for this article and more. Now that people FINALLY admit the DOJ is complicit, consider who pushed the "Garland/Mueller/DOJ will stop Trump" narrative hard.

Those are mafia state propagandists. They are still going. Stay away from them.

You don’t need to be a legal scholar to know the arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are violations of the First Amendment. Nonetheless, it’s always helpful to have a legal scholar around to explain the ugly details.

The Trump Administration Arrested Don Lemon Like He Was a Fugitive Slave
Lemon's arrest is not only a clear violation of the First Amendment but also a blatant throwback to the Constitution's long-discarded Fugitive Slave Clause.

No one is coming to save us.

We're going to have to save ourselves.

And signs are increasingly looking like we will.
Former Texas Lege reporter here. A Dem hasn't held this seat since 1990. Tarrant is the safest of red suburban counties. There is no way the TX and national GOP aren't in panic mode right now.
JUST IN: Democrats flip a red seat in the Texas Senate.

Taylor Rehmet wins against Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist who helped lead right-wing efforts to take over TX school boards.

With all early vote, and 95% of precincts, in, Dem up 57/43.

Trump won this seat by 17% in Tarrant County.

Wow, buckle up.

The early vote just came in Tarrant County, and Democrat Taylor Rehmet is up 56% to 44% in the special election for a Texas state Senate seat.

This is a seat that went for Trump by 17%. This would be a huge upset.

This is already 45K votes.
