Lazy ass thinking is saying Dems and Republicans are the same because corporations "bought" both parties.

Yes, a lack of healthcare will kill people in the long term. But not having food will kill people quicker.

The cutting of SNAP benefits was designed to kill people and make Dems look shitty.

And too many of you fell for that shit.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Are there any math folks out there? Should I carry the one? This is all so confusing. I wish we still had journalists, they'd ask about it.
Wait.. how'd it jump from 190B to 3 trillion? Is anyone doing any fact-checking? If 3 trillion is gone... where did it go?

Dame Judi Dench called James Bond a relic of a bygone era...and then became James Bond's mentor...because he'd just gotten his 00 designation.
Pierce Brosnan James Bond never brings up the Timothy Dalton Bond movies which never brought up the Sean Connery films. Its not hard to just do another movie that ignores the other films. Its that simple.

Marvel Television made a seven-season show based around a side character who was killed by a literal god.

...but folks aren't going to rock with James Bond just showing up again. 🙄

I see people trying to make a broad statement about how furloughed workers feel about the Democrats caving and I would remind you that there are about 3/4 of a million people furloughed and they're probably not going to be a unified front

Oh and let's not forget the government workers who aren't furloughed but are just working without pay, that's another group as well

Like it's entirely possible that the Dems who caved *are* hearing from furloughed workers who wanted this, just as much as other people are hearing from ones who didn't. It's a lot of people!

I am not going to let Schumer and 8 center-right Democrats bring me down. We won on Tuesday. We're gonna keep winning. Just keep telling the stories of what the Trump administration is doing and how it's making lives so much harder, about the corruption, the incompetence, the violence.

again, this actually *is* almost certainly a donor ask thing. i’m not defending it, but Slotkin is probably voting against hemp THC specifically at the request of the NY legal cannabis industry, which is a competitor to the synthetic hemp THC market

worth noting that WA and CA senators were for this, which i suspect has to do with lobbying by the legal weed industry of our states
The shutdown deal includes a ban on hemp products that none of its negotiators debated in public.

Disappointing that only 24 senators voted against killing an amendment to strike that ban.

If people lose their ACA subsidies because republicans slashed them and refused over and over again to even try to restore them, which of those people is going to look at those increased price tags and say “goddamn I blame democrats for not using their leverage”? Listen to yourselves.

Respectfully there is no evidence that Schumer gave tacit agreement. When the Axois article first came out it said anonymous sources told them Dems were going to cave but that they spoke to Schumer & he said he was against their proposal. They've since edited that article to take him out of it ...

This is what is called a NEWS story.

Not one of my favorite outlets to be sure, but it's the first hard proof that all the stories saying that Schumer coordinated the end of the shutdown ARE BULLSHIT!!!: www.axios.com/2025/11/10/s...
Scoop: Schumer privately fought to extend government shutdown
"We let him know what we were doing," said Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.).

UPDATE: The Senate votes 53-47 to shoot down the Baldwin amendment to extend ACA funds for 1 year. A party-line vote with every Republican rejecting it.
An important vote in this series: Tammy Baldwin’s proposal to extend ACA expiring funds for 1 year. It’s structured as a motion to table (i.e. scrap it from the amendment tree). But it’ll show the appetite (or lack thereof) in the Senate to address this issue.

i think the simplest explanation for the shutdown deal is the majority of Dems wish it wouldn’t happen and that’s why they’re saying so, and the ones who caved caved, because the two sides disagree about who is correct

Dawg you dont gotta lie to kick it. But hey thats what yall do.
It’s wild to suggest this is a circular firing squad or something when it’s millions of citizen Democrats who hate it versus 47 elected Democrats who conspired to surrender for nothing.

We’re not fighting “each other,” we’re fighting you. There’s only a few dozen of you, but you hold all the power.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.
