Democrats have either won or significantly outperformed expectations in EVERY SINGLE ELECTION since Trump took office

This Texas upset is no different

But don’t be fooled

If we want to win the midterms, we have A TON of work to do
MAJOR UPSET ALERT: Democrat Taylor Rehmet has just been projected the winner of the Texas SD9 special election — flipping a district that went Trump +17 and hasn’t elected a Democrat since 1991.

Trump personally endorsed Leigh Wambsganss and spent days hyping this race… and still lost.

in TARRANT county?? THAT part of DFW?
JUST IN: Democrats flip a red seat in the Texas Senate.

Taylor Rehmet wins against Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist who helped lead right-wing efforts to take over TX school boards.

With all early vote, and 95% of precincts, in, Dem up 57/43.

Trump won this seat by 17% in Tarrant County.

Can confirm from personal knowledge that Tarrant County is the reddest of the red. The anti-Austin.
Hard to overstate how big a deal a Rehmet win would be. Tarrant County is the epicenter of Christian nationalism in Texas, an incubator for far-right policies, and nexus of billionaire Tim Dunn's network, which is riding hard for Wambsganss. Rehmet almost entirely funded by donations of $100 or less
‼️‼️ Still a lot TBD, but Rehmet is leading early vote count by **13 POINTS** in a district that Trump won by 17 points. I'll be updating in this thread throughout the night.

It's so weird that some Democrats in Congress still don't understand that their voters hate ICE. You can see the pure shock on their faces like a cartoon character who just walked off a cliff and suddenly realized gravity exists.
“These 9 people were killed by ICE this month and you’re throwing me out while I read their names. How fucking dare you!”

Where we are:
1. With the action in GA, the FBI has been mobilized as part of the plan to steal the 2028 election. And the DNI being on the scene is beyond ominous.
2. After bring chaos and illegality and killings to MN, the ICE assault on that city and others will continue with minimal changes.

I don't know why Dems keep throwing up their hands and saying that they can't reduce funding for ICE because it's part of Trump's mislabeled "Big Beautiful Bill".
Bullshit.
What Congress gave, Congress can take away. All they have to do is pass a bill that directs funding away from ICE and CBP

Bovino is just the patsy - a noxious and odious fall guy. Stephen Miller is the architect and prime mover of the whole thing. Everything they do is at his direction - often after his threats. As long as he runs policy in the WH, nothing will change no matter how many Bovinos come and go.

Republicans didn’t like the Dept of Education so when they had a chance they blew it up.

The whole country hates ICE and @schumer.senate.gov is giving us lame, weak, poll-tested pablum.
Seize the moment, my man!
Majority of the country now wants to abolish and/or dismantle ICE and yet Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. told the caucus the message had to be to “restrain, reform and restrict ICE.”

Once again it looks like Schumer is about to choke after getting a massive opportunity.

So pathetic and weak.

Voting NO on the DHS funding bill is the bare minimum.

Backing Kristi Noem’s impeachment is the bare minimum.

Holding law-breaking ICE agents legally accountable is the bare minimum.

ICE is beyond reform. Abolish it.

Senate Dems needn’t come to agreement on everything right now. That’s a path to the lowest common denominator. They simply have to agree to filibuster DHS approps. As to which of a host of anti-brutality and anti-authoritarian proposals to advance, let a thousand flowers bloom.
