I appreciated Senator Warren unequivocally saying she thinks Congress needs to, “tear ICE down to the studs” and start over, during her interview with NPR on Monday 1/26/2026z
I get so anxious calling my reps. But I pushed through & told the v nice person in Schumer’s office that while I appreciate efforts to disaggregate DHS funding from the rest of the bill, ICE is unreformable. An 11yo from Albany is still in a TX detention center. Get rid of Miller. Shut it all down.

There are many research hosting services out there. Lots of them want to host your work in order to mine it for profit. Knowledge Commons wants to build a coalition of researchers, teachers, students, and more, in order to resist the authoritarian effort to undermine public access to knowledge.

Reminder that Congress still has the authority and ability to put a stop to all of this right now. That may not be the case in another 6 mos. to a year. The time to act is now.

"So much of the resistance is either carried out by women or coded as women’s work—unheralded, boring, unglamorous, and mostly undocumented."
The ICE Resistance That You’re Not Seeing
Our screens may be bursting with graphic images of the ICE occupation, but the bulk of the work is boring, invisible—and absolutely vital.

Database of folk heroes.
TOM HOMAN: “We’re going to create a database where those people that are arrested for interference, impeding and assault, we’re going to make them famous. We’re going to put their face on TV. We’re going to let their employers, in their neighborhoods, in their schools, know who these people are.”

Fuck ICE every single day. Taking folks who are the best of this city and the best of every city.
ICE took the flower man in Echo Park 40 minutes ago. He’s at this corner every day. I’ve bought flowers from the man and woman here for anniversaries and birthdays. Lemmy loves to smell them whenever we walk by in the mornings. I was just at the street corner 15 minutes before it happened. Fuck.

James O'Keefe says he's never seen anything so organized as the anti-ICE movement, observers--he seems to think this term is code--everywhere he goes. Who is paying for it??? he demands to know. It's like he can't even imagine people caring for one another.

They say everyone should have guns. And that it’s our right to have them. And scream and fight for the right to carry them. Then the moment they shoot you as you lie unarmed on the ground with five men in your back, they say it’s because you carried a gun.
