I haven’t been to church in two decades, but was raised So Baptist. This book brought back a flood of memories I’d long forgotten (in good and some uncomfortable ways). But nothing comes close to this as an honest representation of what it felt like as a teen. Well done @jasonkirk.fyi

Something maybe worth noting is that all the frog costumes and signs and good-natured memeing came about because a wide spectrum of Americans saw someone in direct, brave confrontation with ICE—getting pepperballed and standing their ground—and thought “that’s awesome. That person is a hero”

Find some kind of artistic endeavor, (painting, poetry, music, knitting, whatever) and just go for it. A lot of it will suck, but all it takes is making just one thing you think is beautiful to bring a satisfaction like no other.

In our late 30s, me and my friends started our first band. We are not famous and don’t want to be, but we write our own tunes and just released our first single this year. It’s never too late to live your dream.
