My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

"This woke Me-Too bullshit has gone too far," said the former Harvard President and Secretary of the U.S. Treasury to the billionaire pedophile sex trafficker in a private email that the Justice Department under both parties kept secret for years

NEW: DHS secretly obtained Chicago police data on 900 residents accused of gang ties. It was quietly deleted after intelligence officers violated rules against domestic spying.

The handoff came well after city inspectors formally announced CPD's gang data was deeply flawed and infected w/ bias.
DHS Kept Chicago Police Records for Months in Violation of Domestic Espionage Rules
The Department of Homeland Security collected data on Chicago residents accused of gang ties to test if police files could feed an FBI watchlist. Months passed before anyone noticed it wasn’t deleted.

not saying it has anything to do with anything, but in his first term, trump (intentionally or not) managed to break the anti-sex trafficking movement. from 2020:
The Trump Administration Finally Broke the Anti-Trafficking Movement
The bipartisan movement to “combat trafficking” was built on many of the same superficialities as the First Family, but everyone has their limit.

Also important to remember that everyone involved in the coverup -- whether formally or informally -- is part of the exact same conspiracy against the victims and against the nation.

In Virginia since January 2025, the number of formal 287(g) agreements (dedicating state/local police resources to help these guys) has gone from 0 to 33.

Unjustifiable.

There are endless examples of this regime of the bullies for the billionaires attacking our people. When we make believe we're in a fight for healthcare subsidies alone, as critical as those are, negotiating in good faith as if MAGA were normal party - we normalize the regime.

Striking contrast with the seemingly endless supply of op-eds, cable news appearances and Substack posts where eminent pundits inform us that normies don't care about airy abstractions like authoritarianism and the rule of law.
The more democratic elements of the American constitutional and economic order are actually throwing up road blocks to Trumpism. Protests and boycotts and low level courts and juries and cetera. Elite actors on the other hand are all too frequently caving. Fascinating study in who actually cares!
