A couple of my younger friends are soon to have their 1st baby and I have a little starter pack of advice for the non-birthing partners (yes, I know this sounds like a set up for a bit, but no).
I'd rather.......well

"Don't wait up - I'll be dead!'
Does anyone else have an MST3K line they use regularly, even if it makes no sense out of context?

Because I have both "That'll keep your panfish down for a while." and "Come come, boys, we must confound Jerry at every turn!" from MST3K the movie alone.

Interesting/informative thread
I'm going to say a couple of things about Alex Pretti's handgun, that I don't think people who do not shoot will initially understand.

This photo was almost immediately distributed by the feds. I think that doing so was, for them and their attempt to whitewash the murder, a *huge* error.

My fellow New Yorkers, it's a snowstorm, not the siege of Stalingrad. Local butcher's case was practically empty; I literally got the last lamb they had save for two sad little rib chops. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/01...

This is both enraging and terrifying. Also, beautifully reported.

In my day this was called "Lickin and Clickin".
yeah I mean it’s genuinely sad that the “reasonable old school” Republican (who Dems eagerly and unanimously voted to confirm) is out here doing pressers blatantly geeked out coke and it’s not subtle

Don't know if this is good news or bad, but now in the Spotify year end wrap up it guesses your age. According to the app, my teenager is 73, my wife 70 and I'm 84.

The last time trump addressed congress, and the Dems help up little signs w different messages, I found it both silly and toothless. But if the next time he addresses congress, and ALL the dems silently held little signs that said "Quiet Piggy", oh I think I would cheer.

There's something so grotesque about this. "“I read it as a sign of physical submission to Donald Trump, a statement of fealty to him and the idea that the surface of a policy is the only thing that matters,” (from the Mother Jones linked article)
