Worth noting that the highest profile and most successful Democratic elected official currently in those states is Laura Kelly, the Governor of Kansas, who seems to not believe in Ezra Klein’s theory of politics!

I’ve read a billion books and watched a million films and documentaries about the rise of fascism in Europe in the 30s and I really never thought being one of the fascism noticers would feel like this but here we are

Ok so in case yall missed the memo like I did. David Lehman, series editor of Best American Poetry is a Zionist ass. Literally feel embarrassed that I wound up in this situation. I was literally the only person of color in a room of 50+ people. It was terrifying.

Anyone with student loans serviced by MOHELA and on SAVE still not seeing interest accrue? It's been over a month! Mainly curious bc my loan interest is gonna be like ~$220/month.

Today was Botox round 2 for migraines. My neuro is convinced this one will help, and I'm still trying to be optimistic. Today is also Day 179 of daily migraines. Here's hoping this stops them before I hit the half-year mark 🤞

Just putting this out there. Not on any AWP panels in Baltimore, but I do plan on coming. If you're looking for readers, I might be interested 👀

Also, if you've got a panel, let me know! Excited to be hitting the East Coast for the first time ever in March 😊

Less than two weeks away! Come by the Replay to hear some rad music and words.
Hey, #LFK, get the Rock and Roll Reading on your calendar, all-ages matinee show on Sept. 12. @bradleymckellip.bsky.social is the excellent musical act. A dozen or so readers will each read something about or inspired by Rock and Roll (or its precursors or offshoots) for 3 minutes or less.

Decided to rewatch PARASITE last night, and it just gets better with every rewatch.

The final illustration (below) of my debut novel, CHURN, and the final chapter, are an homage to PARASITE.

The film is so perfect, so well made and we'll acted. It breaks my heart in the best way everything. 😭

I’m not surpried by the NEA’s decision to cancel and delete the efforts of Creative Writing Fellows but I am disappointed by the clear determination that creatives are once again not valued or given any kind of grace for the time it took to fill out the application.

Correct. It’s insane that anyone is standing for this. We need people in the streets, campus protests, a general strike. Democrats should be holding rallies and press events constantly. The apathy in the face of all this is astounding.
That was one of the most batshit press conferences of Trump's public life. He brandished a photo of Putin and promised to deploy the US military to occupy Chicago, New York, and San Francisco. A sane country would be moving toward impeachment and removal right now.
